Reflections from the Kitchen Book Signing/Launch Party Recap

Hey tribe!

I am SO excited to finally get this recap complete!  The official Reflections from the Kitchen: A 31-Day Devotional Cookbook was a huge success! I am forever grateful for my tribe, sponsors, and everyone else who made this event a success!

Now…let’s get this recap started HUNTY!

The day started with networking, light bites, and of course the best Afrobeats playlist you’ve ever heard haha. Guests enjoyed two items from the cookbook (Double Chocolate Brownies & Vegan Oatmeal Raisin Cookies) and some other delicious yummies created by my little thu thu Valyncia. We later shared the most BEAUTIFUL cake I’ve ever had, sponsored by Shilo’s Sugars!

Next…my personal favorite part of the day! Well…all of it was great. lol But still! We had a book discussion and a Q&A session which allowed for people to win more raffle tickets. I loved seeing how some people had already started reading before the event; and how others were eager about diving in to answer some questions! I shared what inspired me to write this devotional. My inspiration is first because of my desire to seek and run after God’s purpose for my life. Fearlessly.

My goal with this book is to also inspire other young women to seek God with their whole hearts and recognize the power they have to make an impact in the world they live in.

Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16

We all have the capacity for God to use us to be an example among our peers for what it means to be women; and more importantly a Christian woman.

After the Q&A, I took some time to thank my amaaaazing sponsors for believing in the vision God has given me and helping make this event possible!

Now you know I couldn’t end the event without recognizing MY TRIBE!! My loving, supportive family, and my sister-friends!! Y’all. I kept my composure for the most part as hard as it was. But words can’t express how much a role they played in this entire process. My family HELD YA GIRL DOWN during the entireeee planning process!! From helping me find sponsors, to helping me plan, to making sure I had all of the books I needed, to stepping in when I felt overwhelmed. THEY. WERE. THERE. GOD IS CRAZY FAITHFUL because I could NOT have done this without them!

These girls (and some not pictured) literally made my entire day run as smooth as it did. I didn’t have to stress (okay, maybe I did just a little but that’s just because my brain is always on-the-go and me wanting to make sure I’m communicating well lol). BUT…I knew I could trust them. They came in ready to WERK hunty! lol they’re the reason I wasn’t running around like a chicken with my head cut off. haha I LOVE THEM! I pray that God continues to bless them beyond measure.

As promised…we also announced raffle winners! There was everything from essential oils, to a headwrap, a copy of my book, and so much more!

We topped off the party with me signing books and savoring the moment with guests!! That’s when the real PORTY started! lol I even received a few surprises that literally brought me to tears. I’m so grateful for all of the relationships that God has blessed me to form over the years. I never want to take it for granted.

Special thanks to Unique Creations for the beautiful balloon decor. JLenzPhotography for the beautiful photos! And Tonia O Artistry for enhancing my natural beauty with her makeup skills!

Thank you to everyone who came near and far to support and celebrate this milestone with me. I’m truly grateful for all of you! I pray that God will continue to bless each of you beyond measure. This is just the beginning. It was one of the best days of my adult life. Not just because I was celebrating the launch of my book. But because it is a reminder that literally ANYTHING is possible with God. I mean anything. That doesn’t just go for me…it goes for YOU!

I want you to take a moment to reflect on this:

Is your faith in God fearless and limitless? Are you living life to your full potential?

If the answer to any of these questions is “no,” I want to challenge you to join me in this journey to farkarwa (awaken) to your full potential. Stop placing limits on God. And see what He does through to to draw others closer to Him. Don’t get me wrong…it is a journey. And I have NOT arrived. But you won’t regret it.

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20
