The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting For…

Hey tribe!

I knowww.  That title is a bit dramatic, isn’t it?  Well…it’s that serious!  I know I haven’t published a new blog post in a while.  I really miss sharing with you!  I also miss our convos/your feedback!!  🙂 But my prayer is that the wait is worth it because guess what?  We are just 8 days away from my special announcement that I will be sharing via Instagram live and Facebook live!  That’s right!  On Thursday, October 25 at 7:45 pm CST…we will ‘sip some tea.’  lol So, brew your favorite tea, get your favorite mug if you have one, and join me!  In the mean time, check out the announcement details below, follow my socials, and mark your calendars!  You don’t want to miss this.  Also, feel free to take a look around my site, catch up on any old blog posts and PODCAST episodes you may have missed! Let me know if you’re coming!

I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Habakkuk 2:1-3

Until the 25th…

Jeans and Jewels Fundraising Gala Honoree

Hey Tribe!

As some of you may know (if you follow me on Instagram),  I recently found out that I will be one of the honorees at the Jeans and Jewels fundraising Gala on November 10!! Isn’t that amazing?! GOD is CRAZY FAITHFUL…for real!!

Many times in life, you may question what you are doing, if what you are doing matters, and if what you are doing serves a purpose/greater good. BUT…when you grow to the point where you seek ONLY to serve God and glorify Him…things change. Drastically. When you refrain from focusing on the outcome, God is able to use that head space to further the vision He gave you in the first place…in ways you never imagined. That’s where I am.  No, it’s not a cake-walk…you just have to be intentional about doing this!

Open Letter to Little Girls Everywhere

Open Letter to Little Girls Everywhere

July 23, 2018

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:25

There are many unexpected things that you will experience. One is the importance of remembering the core values instilled in you by your parents/guardians. They will give you and your sisters everything they can emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc. Show your appreciation for them as much as possible. Especially when you ‘get grown.’

💕

Your values will be tested. You will feel the need to fight battles that aren’t yours to fight. 🙌🏾 It’ll take you some time to learn this but don’t beat yourself up about it.

💕

Forgive yourself sooner than later.

Reflection: Part 1

Reflection: Part I

As I approach the 1-year mark of when I started my blog…I realize I have so much to reflect upon!  Not just over what has taken place throughout this past year, but the journey that became my motivation for FINALLY sharing my thoughts with the world (after my big sis Marjorie encouraged me to do SEVERAL years ago).  MY spiritual journey slowly began in 2010-2011.  I emphasized MY because up to that point although I was baptized at the age of 12, I was still living based on my parent’s faith and had yet to begin working out my own salvation.  We read an example of the importance of New Testament Christians being diligent in their spiritual walk in Philippians 2:12-13:

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” (NIV)

This is an essential part of Christian living.

Allow me to rewind for a moment.  Continue reading “Reflection: Part 1”

Faith, Food, and Body-Image

Faith, Food, and Body-Image

Combatting dysfunctional thoughts can be one of the most challenging things we do.  For me, it requires me to make a conscious decision every day to speak GOD’S truths about myself TO myself.  And to deny and destroy anything that goes against this.  This includes goals for my life and the PURPOSE that God has already ordained for me.  It also includes changing the way I view the relationships in my life and how I choose to manage them.  It also includes how I grab ahold of my thoughts on my faith, food, and my body image. Body image issues at 28-years old?  Did I just ‘say’ that out loud?  Oh dear!  Well now that the cat’s out the bad…may we continue?
